RipNAS | Ripper, NAS & Windows Home Server (WHS)

RipNAS combines and perfects Audio CD ripping, Network Attached Storage and Media Streaming in one easy to use small (high 'partner acceptance factor') box. Audio CDs are ripped and stored losslessly and securely through multi-drive mirroring [multi-HDD models only]. Audio files are shared for streaming through the network to a multitude of Network audio players available. Windows Home Server is the OS of choice, offering complete home network backup for all family Windows PCs.

RipNAS is pre-configured to work right out of the box, no computer, keyboard, LCD or computer skills are required. Say goodbye to audio CD clutter and move your media into the convenience of the digital age.

Audio CD Ripping Simplified

Easier than 1 2 3, RipNAS manages CD Ripping in just 1 step: Insert Audio CD, metadata is retrieved from 4 metadata providers (AMG, GD3, MusicBrainz, freedb) with quality album art, spelling mistakes are automatically corrected using PerfectMeta�. CD is ripped using the respected dBpoweramp ripping engine to a lossless format of choice, audio files are automatically shared for streaming. Around 3-4 minutes later the CD is ejected, ready for the next disc.

Secure RipNAS models check ripped files for errors against AccurateRip, re-ripping the track if errors are detected and potentially recovering the error (scratches, etc), in-accurate tracks are separated to a different folder. Secure Ripping overview and CD drive quality testing.

The operating system behind RipNAS is Windows Home Server, this secure operating system is designed to be the centre of a digital home: easily access, store, share all your families digital media.

Home Windows PCs are backed up automatically to RipNAS every night, allowing simple restoration of lost files or whole systems. Windows Home Server has been designed to be expandable, add-ins are a plenty from FTP servers to Bittorrent clients. RipNAS integrates into WHS allowing status and settings editing (encoder used, setting up two simultaneous encoders) from PCs on the network through the Windows Home Server Console:

RipNAS is available in a variety of base sizes: 320GB, 640GB and 1TB.

RipNAS grows with your digital library over the years through the adding of USB HDDs, new drives are added to the storage pool, one large storage area.

A range of matching RipNAS storage boxes are available and are placed under RipNAS, a 7TB RipNAS (1TB base, 2x3TB storage) in an impressively small 24 x 25 x 19 cm / 9.4 x 9.8 x 7.5 inches form factor.

Based on 330MB per album (FLAC) and 12 tracks per album. Including 20GB system partition. If RipNAS is used for PC backup, storage capacity will be reduced. If drive mirroring is enabled storage capacity will be half shown amounts.
